This story of a hard working guy is a great read. The characters are very relatable and I became wrapped up in their struggles as they searched for ways to make ends meet. The reader gains insight into the events that led to the conflicting nature of the lead character who at different times is charitable, seemingly selfish and frequently self-destructive. The New York City setting adds ambiance to the story. I will not say more as I do not want to be a story spoiler. The read is definitely worth the time.
